Foreign Trade Surplus in 1H10 3.7 Times Higher Than in 1H09

Bratislava, August 11 (TASR) - Slovakia posted a foreign trade surplus of €838.4 million in the first half of this year, a figure 3.7 times higher than the surplus recorded in the same period last year, the Slovak Statistics Office reported on Wednesday.
In annual terms, the country's exports rose by 21.7 percent to €22.57 billion, while imports were up 18.6 percent, reaching €21.73 billion.
In June alone, the foreign trade surplus rose by €199.9 million on the year to €208.2 million. Exports were 25.9 percent higher, at €4.1 billion, while imports totalled €3.89 billion, which is 19.8 percent more than a year ago.
