Bratislava, August 10 (TASR) - Parliament on Tuesday approved the Government Manifesto, at the same time expressing confidence in the new Government of Iveta Radicova (SDKU-DS). On the fifth day of the parliamentary session, 79 out of the 145 MPs present voted in favour of the Manifesto, while 66 were against.
As expected, all the coalition MPs present supported the document, while both opposition parties voted against it.
Despite the fact that another 26 MPs were supposed to make speeches in Parliament, many of them waived this right in order to speed up the process. Parliamentary Chairman Richard Sulik will be able to open the fourth parliamentary session later on the same day.
At the fourth session, MPs are due to deal with a constitutional amendment proposal on restricting MPs' and judges' immunity, an amendment to the Competency Act that will re-establish the Environment Ministry, and framework agreements on the European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF) and financial assistance for Greece.
