Bratislava, August 7 (TASR) - Transport Minister Jan Figel has commissioned an analysis into the efficiency of Slovakia's near-8-month electronic toll system, while the European Union is reviewing a contract with Sky Toll company for doubts over transparency amid tender procedures, Figel told TASR in an interview.
The minister believes that the toll system charging trucks weighing at least 3.5 tonnes for use of highways which was harshly criticised by the government and former opposition as inefficient may eventually cost the country dearly but stopped short of elaborating.
"I am expecting results of the analysis in the coming weeks," said Figel adding that the efficiency is a major criterion assessing the toll system.
