Bratislava, August 4 (TASR) - Towns and villages will request a state subsidy amounting to €141 million to make up for lower tax revenues and to mitigate the repercussions of the economic crisis, head of the Slovak of Towns and Villages Association (ZMOS) Michal Sykora told TASR on Wednesday.
The Finance Ministry has already been updated on the request, but no final agreement has been reached as yet, with Sykora reluctant to comment on the ZMOS-ministry talks that have been held so far.
The financial situation of local authorities remains critical, he noted. "Towns and villages are adjusting their budgets," he said, adding that this is the case for both revenues and expenditures.
