Bratislava, July 31 (TASR) - Foreigners interested in getting to know the Slovak culture and learning the Slovak language can enrol at the Studia Academica Slovaca's (SAS) Summer School of Slovak Language and Culture, SAS secretary Adela Gabrikova told TASR.
The summer classes are scheduled for August 1-21, bound to take place at the Public Administration Institute. In total, 167 students from 38 countries have applied so far, with the oldest being a 62-year-old American.
Frenchmen displayed the greatest interest, as 18 students are to come from France. Another 13 students are Polish, 12 Germans, 10 Hungarians, nine Italians, eight Serbians and eight Ukrainians. Furthermore, for example, there are two Czech students and one from China, Cuba, Libya, Argentina, Norway, Belgium, Sweden and Greece, respectively.
"There will be university students, but also artists, managers, scholars and administrators among the participants," said Gabrikova, adding that EU translators are also regulars.
SAS represents a specialised department of the Comenius University's Faculty of Philosophy.
