Social Enterprise in Brezno Goes Bankrupt

Bratislava/Banska Bystrica, July 30 (TASR) - The Horehronsky Socialny Podnik social enterprise in Brezno (Banska Bystrica region) has gone bankrupt as of July 26.
Hence, one of the eight pilot projects called social enterprises introduced by the former government has definitely terminated its operation.
According to the Brezno social enterprise director Ivan Murin, the reason was that the Labour Ministry cancelled the social enterprise's contract and didn't heed the companies written request to reconsider its decision. As the social enterprise in question can't maintain its operation without being financed by the Labour Ministry, it applied for bankruptcy itself.
The company owns €15,556 to the state-owned insurer Socialna Poistovna, and unspecified sums to health insurance companies Dovera and Union.
