Bratislava, July 28 (TASR) - Slovakia's central bank (NBS) said on Wednesday that it would join a joint Household Finance and Consumption Survey (HFCS) organised by certain central banks in the eurozone in order to help provide the European Central Bank (ECB) and themselves with data comparable with that in other eurozone countries.
"The HFCS in Slovakia is aimed at gaining reliable data on the current financial standing of families in the country. The survey asks questions concerning demography, the ownership of tangible and financial assets, business activities, borrowing, enterprise, employment, income, consumption, future pension needs..." said the NBS research division in a statement.
The appointed pollsters, Ipsos Tambor Co., will interview households in person in Slovakia in September and October in order to gather data, with letters of appointment from the NBS governor.
The data, according to NBS, are intended solely for statistical and research-economic purposes in order to enable the participant eurozone countries to draw comparisons. The survey is meant to provide a basis for many other studies centring on young people's housing issues, savings, retirement-linked matters and others.
