Ordinary People: Sulik's Party Has Betrayed Us

Bratislava, July 27 (TASR) - Practically nothing from the programme of the 'Ordinary People' faction within Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party has been included in the draft Government manifesto, the faction's head Igor Matovic told TASR on Tuesday.

He also said that the four-member faction is now considering leaving the SaS parliamentary caucus.

"It's strange to see that now that they want us to support the Government they're showing us that we're worth nothing. They're simply not respecting the ballots cast by our voters ... based on which they actually came to rule," said Matovic, who along with three other Ordinary People was elected via preferential balloting.

"Our unique proposals were neglected by the Coalition. They didn't pick a single one of them," complained Matovic, describing the June 12 election aftermath as being in stark contrast to today's political reality. "Perhaps this is how politics works, and let me tell you I find it disgusting," he said.

According to Matovic, relations between the faction and SaS itself have chilled. "I guess the party has betrayed us," he said, describing interpersonal relations between Ordinary People and SaS party members as "all serene", however.
