Stats: Inflation Rate Stays Put at 0.4 percent Y-o-Y in November

Bratislava, December 11 (TASR) - Inflation measured according to national methodology remained unchanged on the month at 0.4 percent year-on-year in November 2009, with core inflation at minus 0.5 percent and net inflation at 0.7 percent, Slovakia's Statistics Office announced on Friday.
The most significant y-o-y price increases in November were recorded in alcoholic beverages and tobacco - 7.9 percent, in healthcare - 7.3 percent, in education - 4.8 percent, in housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels - 3.2 percent, in hotels, cafes and restaurants - 2.4 percent, in miscellaneous goods and services - 1.7 percent, and in postal and telecommunication services - 1.1 percent.
Conversely, prices fell compared to November 2008 in foodstuffs and non-alcoholic beverages - 5 percent, in furniture, household equipment and maintenance - 3.4 percent, in transport - 3.1 percent, in clothing and footwear - 2.3 percent, and in recreation and culture - 1.1 percent.
On average, consumer prices went up by 1.7 percent year-on-year over the first eleven months of 2009.
