SaS Party: People Should Retire by End of Year in Order Not to Lose Money

Bratislava, December 11 (TASR) - Pensions will be lower due to this Government's way of management, vice-chairman of the extra-parliamentary Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party Jozef Mihal told a press conference on Friday.

"Pensions will drop by €16.5 per month in 2010. My message therefore is that those who are pondering receiving pensions should do so by the end of this year. Let them apply to (state-run social-insurer) Socialna Poistovna as soon as possible," said Mihal.

The Government's guarantees about Christmas bonuses are nothing more than "cabinet play-acting as a social government," said the SaS vice-chairman

A proposal by the Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Ministry sets the so-called pension value for 2010 at €9.2246, which in effect means that pensions approved next year will be considerably lower than those that have been approved and still can be approved in 2009, added Mihal.
