Warsaw, July 23 (TASR) - Slovak Prime Minister Iveta Radicova has gained an image as a decisive and tough politician in Europe, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said after the two met on Friday in Warsaw.
Tusk appreciated the fact that Radicova chose Warsaw as one of the first places to visit after becoming Premier.
"Slovakia and Poland are gaining a great deal in terms of reputation and their importance within the EU thanks to us trying to assume accountability for many European issues," said Tusk.
The two countries also concur on how to deal with the crisis.
Tusk would like to improve their co-operation in the field of energy security and construction of transport route north-south.
Radicova pointed out that the neighbouring countries of Central Europe can help each other in tackling the crisis, as well as with reviving economic growth and job creation. She assured Tusk that the enhancement of energy security and the construction of the north-south road – the D3, which exits Slovakia at its northernmost point in Zilina region en route to Krakow – will be included in the new Government's Manifesto.
During her one-day visit to Poland, Radicova is also scheduled to meet with Polish National Bank Governor Marek Belka and share Slovakia's experience with adopting the euro. Afterwards, she will hold talks with acting Polish President Grzegorz Schetyn.
