Strofova Meets Departing South African Ambassador Gumbi

Bratislava, December 11 (TASR) - Slovak Foreign Ministry State Secretary Diana Strofova on Friday met Vienna-based South African Ambassador to Slovakia Leslie M. Gumbi, who is due leave the post soon.
Strofova praised Gumbi's personal approach and the development of bilateral co-operation in the political, economic, cultural and scientific-educational spheres.
At the same time, she pointed out that Slovakia as an EU-member state supports the intensification of EU-African relations. She also described South Africa as one of the most significant trading and investment partners on the African continent.
In addition, Strofova confirmed Slovakia's interest in continuing an active dialogue and in planning visits at the highest levels, as well as in co-operation between the two countries vis-a-vis reform of the security sector.
