Bratislava, December 11 (TASR) - A survey has revealed that 53 percent of Slovaks expect to spend the same amount of money this Christmas as they did last year, Jana Gasparova of Unilever, which carried out the survey, told TASR on Friday.
The poll, which was carried out on 1,695 respondents in November, also revealed that 80 percent of people don't intend to save when it comes to Christmas food, but are ready to spend less on presents.
A total of 65 percent of those asked intend to save an average of 30 percent on gifts compared to last Christmas. "As many as 37 percent of the respondents are planning to spend up to €100 on presents, while another 32 percent will buy gifts worth between €100-200. A mere 5 percent of those questioned will buy gifts whose cost will total more than €300," said Gasparova.
