Investors Want Open Dialogue With Government

Bratislava, July 15 (TASR) - Foreign investors expect the new Government to lead an open and productive dialogue with the business community in Slovakia, reads a statement by both foreign and domestic companies represented by the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham).

"We hope to see an open and constructive dialogue between the decision-makers and business representatives during the whole of the upcoming election period, as the future of the country relies considerably on a strong and competitive economy," reads the statement issued on Thursday.

AmCham phrased its key messages to the newly-elected centre-right Government on several points. First of all, investors would like to see further improvements in the business environment through a vigorous enhancement of Slovakia`s competitiveness and respect for the independence of the judiciary. They also call for more transparency and an improvement in law enforcement.

Investors also want to see investments in human capital and education, an effective and transparent public sector and efforts to reap the full benefits of EU membership.
