Kollar: Economic Programmes of SaS and SDKU Almost Identical

Bratislava, July 11 (TASR) - The adoption of the most important economic laws will depend heavily on co-operation between the two strongest parties of the new governing Coalition - SDKU-DS and Freedom and Solidarity (SaS), as the Finance Ministry is headed by Ivan Miklos (SDKU) while the parliamentary finance and budget committee is chaired by SaS's Jozef Kollar.
"The post of chair of the budget committee is important, with the entire legislation process going through this committee, while a certain level of agreement is necessary," financial committee vice-chairman Peter Kazimir (opposition Smer-SD) told TASR.
Kollar doesn't expect any possible disagreements with Miklos, although he hasn't met him so far to discuss co-operation. However, Miklos was his class-mate at the Economic University in Bratislava. "So I believe that we'll find harmony," said Kollar, pointing out that the two parties have almost identical economic programmes in fact.
