Gasparovic Appoints 13 New Ministers

Bratislava, July 9 (TASR) - Slovak President Ivan Gasparovic appointed the new Slovak Government on Friday.
The centre-right cabinet - presided over by Prime Minister Iveta Radicova (SDKU-DS), who was appointed on Thursday after former premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD) resigned earlier on the same day - will hold its first session immediately after the ceremony.
The strongest coalition party SDKU-DS will hold four ministerial seats in the new Government. Ivan Miklos was appointed the Finance Minister, former two-time prime minister (1998-2006) Mikulas Dzurinda the Foreign Affairs Minister, his party colleague Eugen Jurzyca will be the new Education Minister and Lucia Zitnanska the Justice Minister.
Economy Ministry will be under the remit of Juraj Miskov from Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party; Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Ministry will be presided over by his party colleague Jozef Mihal, Daniel Krajcer will become the new Culture Minister and Lubomir Galko the Defence Minister.
Head of Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) Jan Figel was appointed the new Transport Minister, Daniel Lipsic the Interior Minister and Ivan Uhliarik the Health Minister.
Fourth party in the centre-right Government Most-Hid will be represented by Rudolf Chmel in the post of Deputy Premier for Minorities and by Zsolt Simon at the Agriculture Ministry. Most-Hid will also nominate its candidate for the Environment Ministry once the ministry is re-established.
