Bratislava, July 2 (TASR) - U.S. Chargé d'Affaires Keith Eddins officially announced in Bratislava on Friday that the new U.S. Ambassador to Slovakia Theodore Sedgwick will take up his post in the next few weeks.
Eddins did so at a reception held by the American Embassy to mark the Independence Day celebrations. He also introduced his successor, new U.S. Chargé d'Affaires Martha Patterson.
Eddins is bidding farewell to his diplomatic career after 30 years of service to the United States. He thanked the outgoing Cabinet of Robert Fico for good co-operation, and expressed hope that Slovak-American relations will continue to go well also in the years ahead, with a new Government in power.
