Volkswagen Production in Bratislava Soon to Run Seven Days a Week

Bratislava, June 30 (TASR) - Carmaker Volkswagen is set to launch seven-days-a-week production at its Slovak facilities, TASR was told by Volkswagen Slovakia spokesman Vladimir Machalik on Wednesday.
Higher demand for the Volkswagen Touareg and Audi Q7, produced at the carmaker's Bratislava plant in Devinska Nova Ves, are cited as reasons behind this move. The upshot has been an accelerated recruitment process, as the company says it will need 1,000 new employees.
The new production regime is set to begin on September 2 and to run until mid-2011.
