Bratislava, November 13 (TASR) - The commission for supporting the cultures of national minorities and ethnic groups, which comes under the remit of the Government Office, has allocated more than €100,000 to nine projects that are aimed at strengthening traditions and developing minority cultures, Deputy Premier Dusan Caplovic's spokesman Michal Kalinak told TASR on Friday.
Caplovic, who is Deputy Premier for a Knowledge-based Society, European Affairs, Human Rights and Minorities, stressed that the commission's eight members didn't have an easy job this time - at their fourth and final meeting of this year. According to Caplovic, the quality and originality of projects is still improving, which is a very good sign when it comes to the activities of national minorities and ethnic groups in Slovakia.
The chosen projects promote the cultural traditions of the Roma, the Carpathian Germans, ethnic Hungarians, Ruthenian-Ukrainians and people affected by the Holocaust.
