Figel: Another Step Towards Goal, I Believe Path Is Right One

Bratislava, June 28 (TASR) - The current coalition talks give hope for a new government, said Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) chairman Jan Figel after a KDH presidium session on Monday.

"Some of the issues have been resolved already and we go on. Today (Monday), another step is on the way and I believe that it's the right way, not a bad one," he said. Figel expects the centre-right parties' negotiations on Monday afternoon to be a success, but he added a note of caution. "As long as not everything is settled, nothing is settled," he said, adding that a complete solution still lies ahead and is the responsibility of all involved.

Figel didn't want to comment on speculation over the post of economy minister, but stated that his party has a "responsible offer" in hand. "It's his own responsibility if he ends up in this post, but it's also our common interest to be successful in parliament," said Figel when asked whether he thinks Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) leader Richard Sulik is experienced enough to become parliamentary chairman.
