New Amusement Park to Increase Number of Visitors in Bojnice

Bratislava, June 26 (TASR) - A new amusement park construction is set to take place in Bojnice (Trencin region) in 2011, with Kastor company as the project developer.

"This entertainment, relaxation and educational complex is estimated to enhance the number of tourist visits to Bojnice already in 2013, a date by which we plan to open the premises to the public," said Kastor managing board chairman Jan Badzgon.

The project was preceded by complex and lengthy expert discussions, with all the documentation weighing 4 kilos. Finally, Bojnice became the final choice of location. However, the crisis and problems surrounding land issues extended the preparation phase of the project by a year and a half.

"We won't attract any foreign visitor to return to Slovakia, if we can't offer them a one-of-a-kind experience," said Badzgon. Currently, families with children visit the town to sightsee the castle with historical re-enactments and the like, plus enjoy the swimming pool along with the cultural programme. "We'd like to offer visitors a unique experiences, which will make a one- or two-week stay in Bojnice worthwhile," he said.

Some 500,000 people visit Bojnice annually, with the new amusement park setting its sights on increasing their numbers to 1.5 million. According to Badzgon, 600 to 800 new jobs are to be created upon opening the park. Later on, the project is estimated to create 1,400 full-time jobs, out of which 600 are to be summer jobs.
