Bratislava, December 9 (TASR) - Prosecutor-General Dobroslav Trnka on Wednesday didn't rule out the possibility that the scandalous transfer of land in the High Tatra mountains by the Slovak Land Fund (SPF) could still be reversed.
He added that the Prosecutor-General's Office will resolve this affair in line with the law.
Some prosecutors will scrutinise the land register in Kezmarok (Presov region), while others plan to focus on SPF. When asked about the date by which the case might be closed, Trnka replied that the Prosecutor-General's Office will act quickly to acquire an in-depth conception of the case before the Christmas holidays.
According to Trnka, there is a valid suspicion that the criminal act of abusing official powers has been committed, as was the case with an SPF scandal two years ago linked to land in Velky Slavkov (Presov region). "Let's say that this involves state representatives," added Trnka.
The state representatives - namely SPF's general director Miroslav Mihalik (a Smer-SD nominee) and his deputy Adrian Sandorcin (LS-HZDS) - were dismissed on December 2 in the wake of the transfer of land in Velka Lomnica and Stara Lesna (both Presov region). Premier Robert Fico said that all top representatives of SPF had failed and needed to be held responsible.
