Bratislava, December 9 (TASR) - The period of dual-price displays in both Slovak korunas and euros might be extended, Finance Minister Jan Pociatek (Smer-SD) said after the government session on Wednesday.
"I speak in favour of extending the period of dual-price displays, although it's far from being a standard trend," said Pociatek.
Dual displays were supposed to end by January 2010. "We'll evaluate the arguments for and against. I've not definitely decided yet whether to come up with this initiative, but I think it's sensible," said Pociatek.
A recent survey carried out by the European Commission found that Slovaks want dual-price displays to continue for a longer time. Pociatek thinks that there's a need to consider whether people are familiar with the new currency or need further help. "I have no answer to this yet," he added.
