Centre-right Parties Start to Divvy Up Ministries

Bratislava, June 23 (TASR) - Leaders of the four future coalition parties - SDKU-DS, Freedom and Solidarity (SaS), Christian Democrats (KDH) and Most-Hid - met on Wednesday in order to set about dividing executive posts, based on the proportion of votes garnered.
First of all, they have to decide how many members will the future government have. Two versions appear to be possible, first one giving five seats to SDKU-DS, four seats to SaS and three to both Most-Hid and KDH. If the post of Deputy Premier for a Knowledge-based Society, European Affairs, Minorities and Human Rights was cancelled, the model would look differently. Thus, the only sure conclusion so far is that SDKU-DS election leader Iveta Radicova will become the prime minister.
Background information has been implying that SDKU-DS chairman Mikulas Dzurinda may become the future foreign affairs minister. SaS chairman Richard Sulik doesn't keep it a secret that he would like to become the future finance minister, but, according to some hints, SDKU-DS wants this seat and Sulik could become the parliamentary chairman.
According to the original speculation, KDH chairman Jan Figel should have become the parliamentary chairman, but an executive post for him isn't ruled out either.
Most-Hid, which has been urging the re-opening (the official date of the Environment Ministry coming under the Agriculture Ministry) scheduled for closure as of July 1 by the outgoing government, is also in frame.
