Buzek: Future Slovak Government Should Do Right Thing and Help Greece

Brussels, June 17 (TASR-correspondent) - If the European Union (EU) undertakes measures to save Greece, this decision will have to be made by all eurozone countries, said European Parliament President Jerzy Buzek on Thursday in reaction to reluctance on the part of the likely future Slovak government made up of SDKU-DS, Freedom and Solidarity (SaS), the Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) and Most-Hid.

"I know that it's difficult to make a decision on this matter in Slovakia, but if we all make a decision together, it means a lot ... it means that we're united. Therefore, I think it would be best if Slovakia joined (the other) eurozone-member states," said Buzek in reaction to a journalist's question at the EU summit in Brussels.

According to Buzek, during a crisis, the EU has to "do the right thing and not the easy one, because solidarity comes hand-in-hand with responsibility".
