Slota: SNS Would Back Government of Smer and KDH

Bratislava, June 16 (TASR) - The Slovak National Party (SNS) wouldn't have any problem backing a two-party governing coalition composed of Smer-SD and the Christian Democrats (KDH), SNS chair Jan Slota said after a meeting with President Ivan Gasparovic on Wednesday.
The only thing that matters is that 'Hungarian' party Most-Hid isn't part of the next cabinet, stressed Slota, adding that his party has never had any problem with signing two partial agreements linked to the Fundamental Treaty with the Holy See. "We'd certainly vote for them," said Slota.
The SNS chief is convinced that a coalition of SDKU-DS, Freedom and Solidarity (SaS), KDH and Most-Hid would be controversial in its substance, and therefore the parties won't be able to form a government.
"It's only death that is certain," said Slota, commenting on a declaration by the four parties not to co-operate with Smer, even though it won the election.
Touching again on the agreements with the Vatican, Slota said that if KDH doesn't succeed in its efforts to have them included in the government manifesto, it should break up the coalition talks with the three remaining parties, if it isn't a party of hypocrites.
Slota confirmed that he still hasn't received any invitation from Smer chief Robert Fico to official talks on forming a governing coalition, but suggested that "certain talks are going on intensely".
