Industrial Production Index Drop in October Lowest This Year

Bratislava, December 8 (TASR) - The industrial production index fell in October y-o-y by 3.8 percent and was thus the lowest downturn this year, the Slovak Statistics Office reported on Tuesday.
The September figure was 5.6 percent, while throughout most of the year the industrial production index was falling by over 10 percent.
As well as industrial production (down 4.1 percent), the current development in the index was also influenced by supply of electricity, gas, steam and cold air (down 3.2 percent), but also by a y-o-y increase in mining (6 percent). After seasonal influences were considered, industrial production actually rose by 0.1 percent m-o-m in October.
Since the beginning of the year, the industrial index has fallen y-o-y by 17 percent - 18.8 percent in industrial production and 8.1 percent in the supply of electricity, gas, steam and cold air. Production has grown slightly (0.6 percent y-o-y) only in mining.
