New Chinese-Slovak Company to Create 300 Jobs In Slovakia

Nove Mesto nad Vahom, December 8 (TASR) - A new Chinese-Slovak joint enterprise formed by Universal Media Corporation (UMC), based in Nove Mesto nad Vahom (Trencin region), will create more than 300 jobs, TASR has learned from UMC executive Aslan Khabliev on Tuesday.

"We plan to hire 152 new people by December 15 and another 150-200 employees by the middle of June 2010," Khabliev said.

Meetings with the economic delegation that accompanied the Chinese President Hu Jintao on his visit to Slovakia this summer have laid the groundwork for the creation of the new Chinese-Slovak company. The co-operation will bring the aforementioned 300 new jobs in Slovakia and another 60 jobs in China.

The Swiss-based UMC Slovakia was formed in 2004 and the company has been active in Nove Mesto nad Vahom since November 2005. UMC produces 15-32 inch LCD TV sets and employs 550 employees in Slovakia and another 50 abroad.
