Sulik: SaS Ready to Declare Intent for Rightist Coalition by Signature

Bratislava, June 14 (TASR) - Representatives of the Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party definitely think that the interest of the centre-right parties in forming the new coalition should be declared in written form, said SaS chairman Richard Sulik at a press conference on Monday.

"During the coalition negotiations, we'll be trying to push through as much of our programme as possible, at least to the extent of our representation in Parliament," he said, adding that introducing a levy bonus is SaS's key priority.

Sulik gave assurances that if the coalition negotiations are successful, all SaS MPs will support the future Government Manifesto. "Regardless of how it looks, all our MPs will support it fully," he promised.

Sulik pointed in particular to four future MPs from civil association Ordinary People, who received so many preferential votes that they leap-frogged into Parliament from the bottom places on the SaS slate. According to Sulik, none of them is interested in a ministerial post. "We had a meeting yesterday and everything was agreed on there. They'll stay in Parliament, where they'll supervise the meeting of the Government Manifesto," he said, adding that their values are in accordance with those of the whole party. He specified that the agreement with these four SaS non-members has a partially written character, but a considerable part is based on a "gentlemen's agreement".

The team of SaS negotiators will be made up of Sulik and two SaS vice-chairmen - Juraj Miskov and Jozef Mihal. None of them has yet received an offer from Smer-SD to negotiate.

Sulik re-confirmed his prevailing interest in becoming the future finance minister, but didn't want to specify the party's other ambitions. "I view this as premature," he Sulik.
