Focus Poll: Fico Most Trusted Politician on 26.2 percent

Bratislava, June 7 (TASR) - According to a recent survey carried out by the Focus agency on May 5-11 on 1,055 respondents, Prime Minister and Smer-SD chairman Robert Fico remains the most trustworthy politician in Slovakia on 26.2-percent support.

Opposition SDKU-DS election leader Iveta Radicova came second on 15.8 percent, followed by Interior Minister Robert Kalinak (Smer-SD) on 12.4 percent.

President Ivan Gasparovic was in fourth place (8 percent), followed by Most-Hid chairman Bela Bugar (7.3 percent), Slovak National Party/SNS leader Jan Slota (7.1 percent), SDKU-DS MP and former finance minister Ivan Miklos (7 percent), Freedom and Solidarity/SaS chair Richard Sulik (5.7 percent), LS-HZDS head Vladimir Meciar (5.6 percent), and Christian Democrat Movement/KDH chairman Jan Figel (4.9 percent).

Finance Minister Jan Pociatek was eleventh on 3.8 percent, followed by ethnic-Hungarian party SMK head Pal Csaky on 3.4 percent, KDH vice-chair and former justice minister Daniel Lipsic on 3.3 percent, SDKU chair and former prime minister Mikulas Dzurinda on 2.7 percent, and SNS vice-chair Anna Belousovova on 2.5 percent.

No other politician enjoyed more than 2-percent support.

As many as 28.5 percent of the respondents said that they don't trust any politicians, while 6 percent were unable to answer the question.
