Kosice, June 5 (TASR) - Warm water supplies in Kosice were cut off on Saturday, with 10,000 families also left without electricity, Economy Minister Lubomir Jahnatek told journalists on Saturday.
"I want to ask the public to be patient; we're doing everything possible to restore the supplies as soon as possible," said Jahnatek.
The minister informed that a 110-kilovolt switching station has been defunct after its 22-kilovolt part was deluged in the morning. At first the electricity outage affected as much as 130,000 people, but technicians later managed to restore the supplies to several parts of the city, said Jahnatek.
"The most troublesome problem was the electricity outage in the hospital on Rastislavova Street. This problem was resolved within an hour," said the minister.
Energy company VSE announced that it has deployed around 400 staffers to tackle the electricity outage. Jahnatek added that electricity supplies are expected to be restored by Sunday morning.
