Labour Ministry: Flood-stricken Families to Get €800 from Crisis Fund

Bratislava, June 5 (TASR) - Families affected by the recent floods should obtain a financial help amounting to €800 per family from the crisis fund of the Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Ministry, the ministry's head Viera Tomanova said after an extraordinary government session on Saturday.

"(The financial help) is meant for those families, which have to secure basic items for survival, such as food, clothing and other," said Tomanova.

Since this money is considered to be an urgent crisis aid, the resources will be distributed among the people as of Monday, June 7. In the course of Saturday and Sunday, social workers should visit the flooded towns and villages to examine the fairness of financial aid claims, and to secure the immediate distribution of the finances.

It is still not clear how many people could be entitled to receive the financial aid from the Labour Ministry. "At this moment, it is difficult to present an exact sum, but there will be as much money as necessary," concluded Tomanova.
