ZSE: Electricity for Large Households to Drop by 27 percent in 2010

Bratislava, December 7 (TASR) - ZSE Energia is set to lower electricity charges for large households by 37 percent and by 21 percent for entrepreneurs in 2010, TASR learnt on Monday.

The price of electricity will drop by 2.87 percent year-on-year over the course of 2010, according to a decision made last week by the Office for the Regulation of Network Industries (URSO). At the same time, URSO head Jozef Holjencik pointed out that the reductions could have been more perceptible if the obligation to produce electricity from renewable sources hadn't affected the end price.

URSO also announced last week that for the sake of transparency, prices will be stated separately for electricity itself and for its distribution. "The measure should improve consumers' orientation in the price offers of various suppliers," said Holjencik.
