Bratislava, June 1 (TASR) - The programmes of the opposition parties include the best measures for improving the business environment in Slovakia, said executive director of the Business Alliance of Slovakia (PAS) Robert Kicina at a press conference on Tuesday.
The table drawn up by PAS gives the top spot to SDKU-DS, which gained 68 points out of 100. The Christian Democrats (KDH) are next with 53 points. No other party was given more than 50 points.
"Freedom and Solidarity (SaS), Most-Hid and (the ethnic-Hungarian) SMK are in the middle of the table. The Smer-SD (programme) indicates that less than one-quarter of the requirements of business will be met. LS-HZDS and the Slovak National Party (SNS) are at the bottom," said Kicina.
The political parties in their programmes mainly focus on the fight against corruption, reducing bureaucracy via digitalisation and consolidating public finances. "I'd like to see politicians assigning more importance to improving the business environment, as it's connected to employment in Slovakia," said PAS strategic council member Jozef Hajko.
According to Hajko, SDKU in its programme emphasises the need for macro-economic stability and halting state indebtedness. "It pays attention to labour laws, especially the Labour Code, the current form of which isn't conducive for creating new jobs. The party wants to take strong action against corruption," said Hajko.
On the other hand, Hajko views Smer's measures aimed at improving the business environment as being very vague. "The party neither pays attention to improving law enforcement nor the fight against corruption," he added.
