Bratislava, May 29 (TASR) - Approximately 12 experts of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) will monitor Slovakia's general election due on June 12, chairperson of the Central Election Commission (UVK) Tatiana Janeckova told TASR on Saturday.
She cautioned that this won't involve monitoring in its usual sense, as not everything concerning the election will be inspected by the experts. In addition, the envoys will only spend a few weeks in Slovakia, while as far as "usual monitoring" goes, they spend up to several months in the country concerned.
"They'll focus on problems that occurred in the latest election and shouldn't repeat. This includes 'buying' of Roma votes in the Higher Territorial Units (VUC) election," said Janeckova.
A similar mission took place in the recent presidential election in Austria and parliamentary election in Hungary.
