Bratislava, May 29 (TASR) - Head of Christian Democrats (KDH) Jan Figel views the results of the Czech parliamentary election published on Saturday as an encouragement for Slovakia as well, reads a statement provided for TASR by KDH spokesman Martin Krajcovic on the same day.
Figel congratulated Czech rightist parties to the overall victory in the parliamentary election. According to him, people most believe responsible and experienced politicians and the results prove that "being the first and being the election winner needn't be the same".
The Czech Social Democratic Party (CSSD) received the highest number of votes in the Czech Republic's parliamentary election - 22.1 percent, followed by the Civic Conservative Party (ODS) with 20.2 percent and TOP 09 on 16.7 percent. However, CSSD faces poor prospects vis-a-vis heading the next Government, while ODS and fellow right-wing and centrist parties that have made it into Parliament are more likely to form the new Cabinet.
