Fico: Brown Plague Coming from Hungarian Parliament

Bratislava, May 24 (TASR) - Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico described the statements of Hungarian MPs during the discussions concerning the amendment to the Dual Citizenship Act concerning ethnic Hungarians living outside the country as "atrocious talk", and he said Slovakia has to deal with the Hungarian MPs as well as deal with the amendment itself.
"How should Slovakia feel, when somebody is talking about changing the borders? How should we feel when they consider the Munich Agreement to be a great legal document, while it was the biggest betrayal ever committed on Czechoslovakia," pondered Fico.
Speaking after an extraordinary Coalition Council session on Monday. Fico stated that for "Slovakia, a country with strong anti-fascist traditions based on the Slovak National Uprising (SNP), the situation represents a conflict with a state with a parliament that disseminates a brown plague". At the same time, Fico said he is against Slovakia just looking on and pretending "everything's fine". The Premier expects the international community to react to this "brown plague" too.
Fico is convinced that with the amendment to the Dual Citizenship Act, Hungarian politicians are trying to break the bond between ethnic-Hungarians and Slovakia. The reason for it is that the Slovak Hungarians would not have the same living standard as they currently have in Slovakia.
"Hungary is not able and won't be able to solve its economic, social and financial issues," according to Fico, who repeatedly said he is sorry that the Hungarian side is not willing to discuss the amendment with Slovaks.
