Bratislava, May 19 (TASR) - The trend of using the internet is rising constantly in Slovakia, according to the 'Slovakia and the Internet 2010' survey carried out by TNS Agency in March on a representative sample of 1,031 respondents aged over 15.
While 54.3 percent of respondents said last year that they used the internet at least once a month, this proportion grew in 2010 to 59.4 percent.
According to the survey, 12 percent of Slovaks use the internet less often and 27.4 percent of respondents stated that they haven't had any experience with using the internet yet.
When it comes to the characteristics of most-frequent users, these are people aged between 18-39 with higher education.
The internet population uses the internet especially at home, according to almost 9 out of 10 respondents (87.7 percent) who are active users. Almost two-fifths (37.9 percent) use the internet at work. More than one-fifth (22.1 percent) surfs the internet at school.
When it comes to respondents who haven't had the internet connection installed at home yet, 24.1 percent of them want to do so within the next 12 months.
