Choreographer and director Jan Durovcik returns to Jacksons Lane theater from Slovakia for this exclusive UK premiere, following the sell-out performance of The Firebird two years ago.
The eponymous Carmen, a beautiful gypsy girl with a fiery temper, seduces the inexperienced soldier Don Jos. Passion, rejection, Slovak Dance Theatre presents... mutiny and murder ensue in what promises to be an exceptional piece of dance theatre.
Based on Bizet s original opera, this highly choreographed, dramatic dance version of Carmen, set against a timeless backdrop, is performed by some of the best contemporary Slovakian dancers and promises to be an exhilarating experience.
